About

The believers gathered unto the name of the Lord Jesus Christ meeting at Lidcombe Gospel Hall seek to fulfill the New Testament pattern of an assembly. This places the remembrance of the person and work of Christ as central along with obedience to the great commission:  "Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (King James Version)

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, who are subsequently baptised and have sought fellowship in the local assembly (Acts 2:42) form the company of Christians gathered here.

Activities of the Assembly

The Lord's Supper, as instituted by the Lord himself (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) is held weekly on the first day of the week. It is a time of remembrance of the person and work of Christ represented by the emblems of bread and the cup. Following the remembrance, there is often a short time for ministry from the Bible.

The Sunday School runs weekly within NSW school terms (excluding the Sundays at the start and end of term). It begins with a time for choruses, then classes for children of different ages are held in parallel with a Bible study for adults.

The Gospel meeting on Sunday evenings is an opportunity to hear more of God’s good news for your soul. Individuals have a responsibility to recognise their need as sinners before God and trust that the completed work of the Lord Jesus Christ was necessary and sufficient to free them from the penalty of sin and provide eternal life.

Ministry meetings are an opportunity to learn from the Bible what God has to say to us today.

Regular Bible reading meetings provide opportunity for brethren in the assembly to discuss passages of scripture, for the benefit of all.

Prayer is used regularly throughout the meetings, as a means of communicating with God. In addition, specific times of prayer are set aside each week.

Gospel literature distribution is supported by the assembly in the local area. If you have received any of this we’d love to hear from you.

The assembly also provides support to workers who spread the gospel and minister the word of God around Australia and across the world.
